MORNING FIELD TRIP
DRIVING/HIKING: Phillips Landing and Birding along the Nanticoke, 8:00 – 11:00 a.m.
COST: $25/person
MEETING LOCATION: Phillips Landing Boating and Fishing Access Area (shown as Phillips Landing Park on Google Maps)
Located at the junction of Broad Creek and the Nanticoke River in southwestern Sussex County, Phillips Landing is a gateway to floodplain swamp and xeric sand ridge forests and the wide range of bird species that they harbor. Barred Owl, Summer Tanager, Yellow-throated Vireo, and Yellow-throated, Protonotary, Black-and-white, Worm-eating and Kentucky Warbler are a few of the birds we may find here. Please dress and prepare for possibly muddy trails and ticks.
AFTERNOON FIELD TRIP
DRIVING/HIKING: Birding the Harriet Tubman Byway, 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.
COST: $65/person
MEETING LOCATION: small roadside pull-off at the Brodess Farm Site, located near 2881 Greenbrier Road, Bucktown, MD 21613. The GPS Coordinates are: 38.459031,-76.048522
Join Harriet Tubman Tours and Delmarva Birding Weekends as we go birding along the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway in Dorchester County, MD. During our guided, self-driven tour, we’ll learn about the life and times of the famed freedom seeker and human rights activist known as “The Moses of Her People,” Harriet Tubman. The route courses through the farms and Chesapeake Bay marshes of Dorchester County, home to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and some of the best birding and Bald Eagle watching on America’s Eastern Seaboard. TALLY RALLY: RaR Brewing, 6:15 p.m.
COST: FREE, food & drinks available for purchase

The Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend is more than a great opportunity to see unique local birds…it is also a time to meet unique local birders! Birders will enjoy great beer and good company at RaR Brewing in beautiful and historic Cambridge, Maryland.
See what birds have been tallied on the Wednesday field trips, and learn about local birding hotspots from our DBW guides. Join us to swap birding stories and add to the DBW checklist for the weekend. There is no fee for attending the tally rally, but food and drinks will be available for purchase at RaR Brewing.

- No cancellations are accepted after April 4, 2022, unless diagnosed or quarantined with COVID-19.
- Food and drink are not included in the cost for trips and tally rallies.
- Trips will go rain or shine.
- If the trip is canceled due to dangerous conditions, a full refund will be provided.
