Join us for a our annual celebration of spring birding! Registration will open before March 1.

The 30th annual Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend will be hosted April 23 – 26, 2026. The event was founded in April 1995 (we canceled the 2020 event due to the covid pandemic). The event celebrates the amazing warblers, shorebirds, waterfowl and raptors that visit and live here on the peninsula. The Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend has combined boat trips, paddling treks, and expeditions on foot when migrating birds are arriving and passing through the peninsula for nesting season. The Delmarva region possesses an extensive variety of environments, including barrier islands, tidal wetlands, cypress swamps, upland fields and primeval forests. Late April is a great time to explore the shore to tally late-leaving winter species and newly arrived migrants. 159 species were tallied during the 2025 event!

If you want to add your name to the interest list for the Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend, please email dmvbirds@gmail.com with your name and the number in your party. We will contact you when registration opens.
