Lewes Boat Trip: Sunday, March 8
Lewes Boat Trip (BOAT TOUR)
10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Cost: $60/person (includes tip for First Mate)
Meeting Location: Fisherman’s Wharf in Lewes, DE
Join us for a three-hour cruise of the waters around the mouth of the Delaware Bay aboard the Thelma Dale V. The boat features an enclosed cabin with window viewing, and a top deck for open-air viewing. We will visit the two stone breakwaters and the ice breakers in search of common and rare waterfowl and seabirds including gulls, cormorants, gannets, loons, scoters, eiders and with luck a Harlequin Duck or Razorbill. During our January 26, 2019 aboard the Thelma Dale V, we saw 16,000+ Snow Geese on the ocean, all three species of scoter (Surf, Black and White-winged), and nine Razorbills! On our March 9, 2019 trip, we saw 65 Harbor and Gray Seals, swimming and hauled out on the ice breakers near the outer breakwater.
