Meet your guides at the Bombay Hook NWR Visitor Center for an overview of the morning’s itinerary. Following the overview, we’ll explore Delaware’s most famous birding hot spot. Bombay Hook NWR offers a cornucopia of birding opportunities – from salt marsh to freshwater impoundments to rich, deciduous woodlands. More than 220 species have been recorded here in October!

We’ll sample each of the main habitat types looking for fall migrants and local breeders, including migrating shorebirds, wading birds, and waterfowl. The trip will involve some easy walking, and car caravans between major stops.

Following our birding adventure, all participants are invited to join the guides at the 2nd annual Leipsic Oyster Festival for our post-trip Tally Rally, oysters, beer and festival fun. What a great way to spend the day on the Delaware Bayshore!
